Assignmnet 3 task 2

After we've talked about diabetes, there are 2 jobs to do today:

1. Make sure you've finished your pathogens Powerpoint below, saved it and have printed it off and given in to Mr. Cole.
2. Complete task 2. This can also be done as a powerpoint, or on A3 if you prefer. 

At the end of the lesson, make sure everything that needs marking goes in the blue folder. Anything that you're still working on goes in your personal folder so you can continue next lesson.

Pathogens and disease

Today we're going to start working on assignment 3, task 1.  Use the links to create a powerpoint with one slide about each pathogen below:

• Explain what Bacteria are, and example of a disease caused by them and how they make us sick.

You then need to answer the same questions (on a separate slide each) for:

• Viruses
• Protozoans
• Fungi

So that people in the waiting room will be interested in your posters, make sure you include pictures of the pathogens and the diseases they cause.  You should also make your work colourful and interesting.

Merit work - Once you have finished the pass criteria, you can start on the merit tasks. For M5, you need to explain what MRSA is and why it is a big problem in hospitals.

For M7, You need to explain what the MMR vaccine protects people from, as well as describing the controversy that surrounded it and was then shown to be untrue.
